How To Create a Contact Form Using Formidable Forms?

For this tutorial, we will be using the free version of Formidable Forms.

Simply log in to your WordPress admin area, go to the add new plugins section. There, search for Formidable Forms and install it on your blog.

Once you got installed the plugin, you need to activate it.

And in the WordPress admin section, you could see the form settings.

Under the plugin settings, you could see something like:

• Forms.
• Entries.
• Styles.
• Import/ Export.
• Global Settings.
• Add-Ons.
• Upgrading.

All we need is to create a form and embed it on any of our page/ post or custom post type.

In the forms section, click on the add new button.

You’ll be redirected to the form builder page.

There are so many form templates are available. Some of the popular ones are:

• Contact.
• User Registration.
• Payment Forms.
• Donation Forms.
• Product Order Forms.

etc…

But sadly, the free version got only one pre-made template – the contact form template. So, choose it. When you need to use those advanced templates, probably you need to upgrade your license to pro.

Now name your contact form and save it.

Now, you are on the form builder wizard.

By default, the template comes with 4 fields.

• First Name.
• Email.
• Subject.
• Message.

But on the left side, you will see all available fields.

You can always drag fields from the left side and drop them here. The fields will be added to form. But for a basic contact form, these fields are good enough.

By selecting a field, you can modify it. For example, we are going to modify the Name field.

You can choose the priority and add a custom CSS class to the field. And by doing it, you can add additional CSS to your WordPress blog for making the form field a custom one. You need to update the settings after making any changes.

From the settings, section, you can configure the additional section.

The important step you need to configure is the  “on submit” setting. By default, the system will show a custom message when a website visitor submits the form. But you can always redirect them to a specif URL or show page content.

Update the form.

Embedding The Form

No need to add a single line of code to your website. Plus, you don’t need to edit your theme files also. Embedding can be done using the Gutenberg block or by using a dedicated shortcode.

In the all forms section, you will see your newly created form and a dedicated shortcode of it.

Copy the code.

Go to a post/ page or CPT where you need to display the form. In my case, I am going to add it on a page. Simply paste the shortcode on the editor and update/ publish the page.

On the other hand, you could use the Formidable button to add new forms to the page.

And when you check it from the frontend, you will see the live action of your form.
